Moore ties for 10th at 2017 USBC Junior Gold Championship (Daily Gate City)

CLEVELAND — Rachel Moore of Keokuk tied for 10th in the girls under 12 age division at the 2017 USBC Junior Gold Championships.

Moore was one of 18 bowlers among the 124 in the age division to move on to the Advancers Round after four qualifying rounds.

Moore was ninth when qualifying ended. She rolled a 687 series in the fourth round, bowling games of 208, 149, 176 and 154. Moore had a 16-game score of 2,616.

In the Advancers Round, Moore had games of 177, 172, 180 and 105 for a 634 series. She finished with a 20-game total of 3,250.

Unfortunately, the top eight advanced to Match Play. Karina Capron of Fremont, Neb., seeded fourth, came back from an opening round loss in the double emination bracket to win the national championship.

Lyndie Dodson of Hamilton, Ill., participated in the girls under 20 age division. She rolled a 532 series in the fourth round of qualifying, scoring games of 142, 134, 126 and 130. She finished the 16 games with a total of 2,135.

Logan Kramer of West Point bowled in the boys under 15 age division. He finished his fourth qualifying round with games of 184, 116, 134 and 139 for a 573 series. He completed the 16 games with a total of 2,460.

Jake Cook, Brandon Buttz, Zach Lantz and Jarrett West competed in the boys under 20 age division.

Cook of Keokuk bowled games of 203, 153, 176 and 189 for a 721 series in his final round of qualifying. He finished with a total of 2,726.

Buttz of Dallas City, Ill., had fourth-round qualifying games of 231, 168, 117 and 154 for a 670 series. He finished the competition with a total of 2,624.

Lantz of Liberty, Ill., rollled games of 183, 184, 116 and 203 for a 686 series. He scored a 2,618 over 16 games.

West of Montrose ended qualifying with a 626 series, bowling games of 133, 188, 141 abd 164. He finished with a pin total of 2,371.
