Davis named to all-district team (Daily Gate City)

Keokuk junior Michaela Davis was selected to the Class 4A all-district softball team for the Southeast District.

Davis batted .465 with one home run and 17 runs batted in. She also had nine triples and three doubles among her 60 hits. Davis scored 45 runs and stole 16 bases. She walked 17 times, while striking out just five times in 129 at-bats.

Davis finished with an on-base percentage of .531 and a slugging percentage of .651.

Davis was one of 14 players to earn all-district honors. Six of the 14 players were from the Southeast Conference.

Fairfield placed three players on the all-district team, seniors Brynna Bowman and Kaylee Watson and junior Ashtyn Drish. Senior Bailey Johnson and junior Chi Glaha were chosen from Mount Pleasant.

Also named to the all-district team were Oskaloosa seniors Alexis Groet and Aubrey Miller, Norwalk senior Amron Born and junior Alyx Witt, Hoover senior Madisen Blackford, Dallas Center-Grimes senior Brooke Kramer and freshman Riley Hall, and Burlington senior Mia Ruther.

Fairfield’s Bob Bradfield was named District Coach of the Year.
