Hawks first, Chiefs second at golf meet (Daily Gate City)

DONNELLSON — The Central Lee Hawks won their own boys golf invitational Saturday at Green Acres Golf Course.

Central Lee took first with a 309. Keokuk was the runner-up with a 320.

Isaac Moeller, Jake Fraise and Evan Doyle each shot a 77 to lead the Hawks. Moeller birdied holes No. 1, 12 and 15. Fraise birdied holes No. 8 and 16, while Doyle birdied hole No. 13.

Aaron Wills and Lane Campbell each shot a 78. Wills birdied on hole No. 3. K.J. Skow finished with an 87. He birdied hole No. 5.

Brett Wrieden earned individual honors for Keokuk with a one-over par 73. He birdied holes No. 1, 10 and 16.

Jake Cook added a 77 for the Chiefs. He birdied holes No. 7 and 11. Damon Wolter had an 84. Brant O’Shea fired an 86. Alex Wolter carded a 91, and Jacob Kite finished with a 93. Kite birdied hole No. 16.

Notre Dame-West Burlington’s Matt Briggs was the runner-up individual with a 75.
